The clinical study on the patients with ceullitis of ROK army


Abstract
Cellulitis is one of common infectious skin diseases in primary care units of military se which personal hygiene could be easily neglected under special circumstances such as training. We evaluated the clinical findings of 59 patients with cellulitis who were hospitalize medical detachment of 1st Infantry Division of ROK Army from May, 1995 to April. 1996. compared the result with those of previous reports on cellulitis.
The recurrence rate of cellulitis during the 2 1/2 year follow-up period was only 4%, much lower than 33% of recurrence rate in the previous report on patience` with cellulitis ho in Seoul National University Hospital in Korea. Because young patients with cellulitis in this stu no underlying disease, there recurrence rate seems to be lower than any other recurrence other previous reports in public society.
According to the results. the most common route of infection was the previous woun which allows portal of invasion of microorganisms. Tinea pedis was also found to be 39% in with cellulitis of lower leg, from which we could reconfirm the role of tinea pedis as a cellulitis in lower extremities. Analysing rank of patients. 73% of all were included into private first class, which means that they carinot have enough time for personal hygiene in service and that in consequence this would increase the attacking rate of cellulitis in Therefore. we found that the incidence of cellulitis in military service of ROK Army could be if the more attention would be paid to preventive counterplans for secondary infection and tin.
